A Little Bit About Me

You Deserve to Feel Supported, I’m Here to Help.

I am a firm believer that we are the product of all of our experiences, both good and bad, and the individuals whose paths cross with ours throughout our life. This does not mean that our painful past experiences have to dictate and restrict how we live our lives today. We can create education, support and compassion together that allows us to listen to our nervous systems and heal from our traumas. My passion is to support people in finding their strength from different experiences and help to foster positive growth and resilience.

My Background

Hi, Amanda here, pronouns she/her/hers. Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA, I moved to The Netherlands in 2016. I have two Bachelors in Science from Western Carolina University; BS in Psychology & BS in Anthropology. I completed my Master’s in Psychology with an Emphasis in Counseling from Webster Leiden Campus- Webster University in 2018. This experience allowed me the opportunity to grow professionally, as well as personally. Having first-hand experience of what being an Expat truly looks like, I can empathize and understand the hard-ship, frustration and struggles that come with relocating and starting a life in a new environment.

I was fortunate to open my private practice in January of 2019 with the drive and passion to help others find and maintain balance mentally, physically and emotionally. I am a registered psychologist and work under the title of Counseling Psychologist; I am accredited by the Netherlands Institute of Psychology (NIP; 229885).

My Approach

Currently, I reside in The Hague where I practice one-on-one therapy sessions with clients from all around the world. My approach is person-centered; I believe there are huge benefits in integrating techniques from Polyvagal Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness/Grounding, and Narrative Therapy. I maintain the Tri-Phasic Model and work with my clients towards Empowerment and Resilience building.
